Time for a New Adventure!

I have some news that I want to share with you today.
I have been abundantly Blessed for the past seven and a half years with this beautiful little two bedroom house that I have come to call home.  For those of you that have been following along with Shoestring Elegance, since I began just a few years ago, you have all seen, through each and every project or rose from my garden, how much I have enjoyed my house and living here, though every single picture, I have shared with you.(which also warms my heart to know those memories are captured, here!)

You may also remember, that I rent this cute little house.  Two weeks ago, I received a letter from the owner, letting me know that my journey, here, at this little house almost is over. They have decided to sell the property and have served me with a 60-day notice to relinquish my little house to them.
While it is sad to even begin to think about starting all over again somewhere new, I believe with all my heart and mind that God is at work in everything! One of my favorite verses that has lifted me through so much in my life is:
Jeremiah 29:11 ~For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and to not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
For most people, I believe, while upsetting and frustrating, moving is a fact of life that we all must deal with and get on with our lives, which is very true for me, as well.  I have an extra obstacle to overcome on this journey, as I have shared with you before, I have fibromyalgia and degenerative back problems that makes these types of things even a more of a struggle. Although, as I say that,  I can tell you that I am also abundantly blessed with wonderful friends and family and a support system like no other!
I guess I should just get to the bottom line. right?! My hometown is Petaluma, California.  I have lived here since I was 2 years old. My parents are Canadian transplants from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I love my hometown and my parents, that live here, as well as, that wonderful support system I spoke about. But, unfortunately ever since our wonderful little town was name number one place to visit, by a major, international publication, the rents have quite quickly, doubled, even tripled in some cases.
So what does all this mean? God has a new adventure for me! Not all adventures that He puts us on are comfortable, but they are with purpose to better me and my relationship with Him and, hopefully, a better use of me to this earth that we live in.
I would like to ask you for your prayers. Prayers that I have the strength to get through this move, that I may find something to rent, here in my hometown, as it appears that I may not be able to stay here, financially speaking. I have said many times that it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be somewhere to start again.

I can just imagine the fun I will have sharing with you all the new projects I will be undertaking as I make a new place my home.
Until that time, when I am moved into a new location, I am busy packing and looking everywhere, and calling everyone to get the word out and peoples eyes open to aide me in this search.

Which is why I will not be able to Blog whilst doing this. I will keep up with Linda and our, What to do Weekends Party! I will try and keep you updated on Shoestring's Facebook page
With your prayers, and God's strength,  and the help of my Family and Friends,  I hope that I will look back at his as a little hiccup in the whole scheme of things.
But, for right now, I am soberly and diligently looking and packing!  It is my prayer, that the next time I get to sit down and write a something new & fun with you all that I will be settled, wherever I am supposed to be, and able to share with you all the adventures it took in getting me there!
As always, I wish you all peace and joy and many Blessings,
Theresa.

P.S. Please come back tonight and join Linda and I for What to do Weekends #125!

  1. Theresa, your faith is inspiring! God will provide you with the perfect house for you and your needs. Unlike you, and many other people, I LOVE moving! I have moved 22 times in the last 30 years and we are preparing for yet another one. We are moving into subsidized housing, while my husband finishes his schooling and until he gets his first job. This will help us better manage our finances and maybe even start to get ahead a little. If you look at this move as an adventure and an opportunity to work your creative magic on another space, it might make it easier. Celebrate the fact that you have a huge support system, as many people don't. I know that God will provide for you, I will pray that He doesn't make you wait until the 11th hour!

    1. Dawn, Thank you so much for reaching out, for praying and for your oh-too-kind words of encouragement. I really do know that God will provide. I know it's just another adventure He had in store for me. But, boy do I join you in the prayer that it is not at the 11th hour! When all's said and done, it really IS just a house.
Thank you so much, Dawn for your wonderfully kind heart.
God Bless you and yours on this new adventure and move, as well.
      Theresa

Watching other battle with so much, almost makes me feel ashamed for being sad. I love you from Long distance, too! It is my Faith and friends like you that keep me going, moving onward, forward to whatever God has for me. Thank you, Jonell. <3

  3. Theresa, I know you are being brave and positive, but my heart breaks for you. I would be scared and sad and grieving, I think. I absolutely agree that God has an incredible plan for you. It will be something even better than we can imagine. And I don't think that means we can't have a wide variety of feelings about it. :) I love the verse from Jeremiah. I don't know how many times in this past year I have read it over and over, as if to remind myself (and God!) of that very promise. I believe it with all my heart. And I believe in God's timing. Always. Sending love and hope and strength and courage and prayers for my sweet friend.

    1. Joy, Bless your kind and wonderful heart! I truly believe that verse from Jeremiah! It, and friends like you, get me through each and every day! Don't worry. I am, appropriately, going through a variety of thoughts and feelings, too. But, truly trying to fix my eyes on Him, that knows all. Thanks for the love, hope, strength, courage and most especially, the prayers. :) my dear friend.

  5. Dear Theresa,

I just wanted to let you know that my prayers are with you as you search for your perfect new home! I've had to move more times than I care to count (and I also live with fibromyalgia and a number of other chronic conditions) so I know just how taxing moving can be.

I look forward to hearing of your progress and if you need extra prayer or just want to say hello - feel free to drop me a personal line!

    Hugs
    Ramona :-)
