Hello and welcome! Happy Thursday! Well, my friends, February is just about over. (insert sad face here). For those of you that had to deal with the cold weather, heavy snow, and blizzards, I am terribly sorry and certain you’re happy to see it go. However, for those of us in Northern California, we could use more rain, still, so I’m not quite ready for spring to get here just yet. That being said, I have to admit I'm loving the early blooms and blossoms I see dotting my little town, here and there. Thank you for sharing so much beauty and creativity, every single week. Easy Monkey Bread With Brown Sugar Sauce - (made with store-bought biscuit dough)

Good morning, friends.  It's a nice, chilly morning and what better thing to do on a chilly day than bake something yummy to share.  I shared a picture of what I was baking the other morning on Facebook and Instagram, just because I love it when something I enjoy so much turns out so pretty and tastes so yummy. I must say I was surprised at the response. I guess this recipe isn't a given for a lot of people.

It isn't much work, really. My family has made some version of his over the years, I have, just recently, realized that there is one specific way I enjoy making it at my house, that I guess is a little unique. It couldn't be better for these cold winter mornings.

Hi Friends, welcome back! Yes, it's winter and we are in the middle of a great big rainstorm here, but that doesn't mean we can't embrace the Season and enjoy what we can do inside! I love how you all are enjoying those things that can make your space "home" and comfy! I love doing the same in my little corner of the world, and let me tell you it includes a lot of wonderful blanket throws and fuzzy socks and slippers galore! As well as some yummy baking days and lazy mornings with my macchiato. Ahem, and now onto how you all have been enjoying your winter...

Hi friends, welcome to this week's Thursday Favorite Things party. Are you all getting excited for this weekend's Autumnal Equinox? I, personally, can not wait! Fall is my favorite Season and I'm so excited to, hopefully, get to put a sweater on soo. So far, we are still in the 80's, here in Northern California, but I am hoping for cool mornings and rainy nights soon. Well, looks like I may have to wait a little while longer.  Usually, I like to pick a theme from your shares for my Features each week. Hey sweet friends, welcome back. Can you believe Easter is just 10 short days away?! Time is just flying this year. The day before yesterday, we welcomed in the beautiful new Spring season, albeit quite a soggy one here in Northern California. I will not complain. I love the rain and we are always too short on supply to not welcome it with open arms. Well, you have just about enough time to make some of these adorable creations for your Easter Tables! Whether you were looking for Easter decor or some wonderful recipes to try, last week's party had it all, and then some! Enjoy all the creative ladies that linked up with these fun options!

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice Muffins-Springtime in a Muffin!

It seems that as we draw closer to the end of February the pull towards all things Spring is inevitable.  We've bundled up and enjoyed our Autumn breezes,  we've celebrated with our family and loved ones for the holidays, looked, longingly, at our fireplaces, and snuggled with a good book or old movie, now we look to the promise of Spring.

Spring begins in just a few weeks.  Yep, March 20th, by my calendar, here, in the United States. Unfortunately, I do realize that many of you on the East Coast and in other parts of the world are still looking at lots of cold days to come this year.  Whilst others are in the 90's. Goodness!

No matter, I have the perfect, refreshing, welcoming Spring, cheer up your Winter, or refresh your Summer recipe right here!   I have seen versions of this recipe in Allrecipes, Bon Appetit and other periodicals. The funny thing is, everyone had their own tips, twist and tricks to it, so it never reads exactly the same. I, actually, really love that.

I am no exception.  I made changes to it, as well.

Cranberry Apple Chutney Recipe ~ New Holiday Favorite

Do you ever have a combination of flavors in your mind that you just know would be good together?  I do. When this happens to me, I can't really rest until I try it.  Maybe it's just me, but ever since the subject of Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations came up this year, the when, where, who's home, the what we'll have conversations started circulating, I have had a flavor in mind that I wanted to try.
I always make my own Cranberry Sauce. I never have enjoyed the 'canned' versions, and so as an adult, preparing my own feasts for the holidays, I have made my own.  Nothing complicated, just fresh 1 -12oz bag of cranberries, the zest of 2 fresh oranges and their juice, some of the chopped up peel popped in while cooking with some sugar and spices. I love it! I love the smell of Christmas it spreads throughout the house. Nothing else quite has that smell. It excites me for the upcoming time with family and friends.

That being said, that was not what was on my mind this year. I kept thinking I wanted something a little more. A little more substance, a lot more dimension, more flavors and a bit sturdier, for lack of a better word. I wanted to incorporate more flavors so that it would work for the Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas feeds but also be wonderful on its own, or for a wonderful appetizer.

Hi Friends, It has been too long since I've been able to share something of my own with you! Yesterday, I posted some of these images on Shoestring Elegance's Facebook Page Well, let's just say there was far more interest than I had anticipated in my use of the Lemons that came with my new home. I lost my rose garden when I had to move, but I gained a Lemon tree! I'm, constantly trying to find the silver linings, I guess.  Truthfully, to have found any new place in my home town these days is quite a feat, so I am choosing gratitude for all that I am blessed with. Which now includes a Lemon Tree! 

Which brings me to these images!  With the lemons starting to fall and new green ones starting to appear, I felt I better get to using them for something more than the lemon zest in my everyday cooking.
