I Give up....Happy Valentine's Day Week!

Good morning friends and welcome back to the Thursday Favorite Things party! Well, as the title reads, "I Give Up!" I have decided to embrace all things Valentines because you guys are just too darn creative for me not to! I truly enjoyed all your wonderful links from last week's party. Baking, Gardening and Enjoying August (TFT PARTY)

 Hi friends! What a wonderful start to August for us here in Northern California! The first day of August came in with a very unexpected, surprise little rain storm.  I was, needless to say, ecstatic! Not only that we NEED IT SO MUCH, but my garden was thrilled! I don’t think I told you yet, but what I decided to do, when trying gardening for myself, was growing Heirloom tomatoes and veggies. 

I’m kind of an information junkie when I start something new. So, I thought if I was going to put in the effort, I wanted the maximum output! My ELEVEN varieties, now,  are coming along quite nicely too! Oh! Did I mention I just finished baking 100 blueberry breakfast cookies for my church today? Yep, busy but happy!

 Summer inspiration galore! Thank you all! Welcome any new joiners.   I’m so excited to let you know that Monday morning @ 7:57 a.m our family grew by one sweet little grandniece, Eleanor Diane! Mum and baby are both well and beautiful! Such an exciting time. I’m over the moon.

Welcoming March, Praying for Peace & This Week's TFT Party

Hello friends, welcome back to Shoestring Elegance! Happy March to you all. I pray that everything is just as you like it where you are. 

Please join me in praying for peace for the Ukrainian people. So very hard to watch them as they try and fight to defend their home. Very heart breaking and difficult times.

This week, I spent some time with my Mum, which is not odd.  You see, every year, about this time her flowering crabapple tree puts on the most beautiful show for all to see. And, while it doesn't last long, it is spectacular sight.  Also, every year, I try and capture its beauty, but now believe no image will ever match the awesomeness of standing right in front of it and watching it come to life.  Nonetheless, I did snap a picture to share with you, before we get onto this week's Thursday Favorite Things party. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and that you have equally beautiful blooms showing up where you are. I am abundantly blessed and have nothing to complain about, in this place and time.

Thanksgiving's Over... Bring On The Christmas!

Good morning friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration.  I don't know about you, but I am definitely ready to bring on Christmas Everything! 

Did any of you get your tree yesterday? I didn't yet, but I'm so jealous of those that do! 

You all are doing a great job of bringing on the Christmas Inspirations here! I've been busy baking and decorating and keep forgetting to take pictures. You all do that so wonderfully. National day of Prayer, May Love & the TFT Party

Welcome friends! I hope "merry is the month of May" is true for you, and continues to exceed your expectations!  Today is the National Day of Prayer. I'm praying for us all.  I hope you will too. 

Does anyone else find it odd that in the Winter months we turn our heater up all the time and, yet, in the Summer months we keep the house open at night to try and get the temperature down to at least 10 degrees cooler than what we just liked a couple months before??

Fall Favorites (TFT Party)

Good morning, my friends. I'm going to have to keep it short and sweet today, I'm not sure if my power will stay on very long. I want to thank all of you, who left comments of support and added your prayers to mine last week, as we, here in Northern California navigated life with nearby fires and rolling power outages. I'm sorry I haven't had the time to respond to all your kind comments, but I did get to read them and am very grateful.

Yesterday evening, finally, brought some very welcome news...

"The wind event proved to be much less than they thought. Our amazing firefighters kept the fire at bay and the increase was minimal. We are at 76,825 acres and 45% containment which is AMAZING!! 
Forever grateful for all your prayers and the hard work done to keep us safe and the damage minimal!"

Good morning, friends. Well, it's finally happened...Autumn has arrived. Yes, even here in Northern California and I couldn't be happier. Even with all the fire scares, the power shutoffs, stocking the house for emergencies, I am abundantly grateful for cool, crisp air, fog that brings back that wonderful morning mist and humidity levels that so help all our firefighters... Grateful.  Happy to be baking, cooking soups and stews and all the wonderful things that come with this glorious Season. I've even needed my coat a couple of times. Simply blissful.
